"The article deals with specific option of starting the in-duction melting process of SiO2 in a cold crucible. This application is often referred to as skull-melting-method because the to be melted material gets melted in its own body. That means that the melt doesn?t get exposed to foreign materials. For this design option the ANSYS multiphysics software is provided. The numerical simulation and the theoretical description of the problem can be used as bases for determining the optimum conditions for starting the melting process of SiO2 that would not be possible to melt at ambient temperature while there are in their solid state."@en .
