"2"^^ . "The insulation system is exposed to several types of stress during the operation of the machine. One stress is caused by electric field. When the rotating machine oper-ates at the voltage above 6 kV, partial discharges occur. It causes intense degradation of the insulation system, accelerate the aging of the insulation and at the end can cause premature failure of the machine. Partial discharges have a significant impact on determining of the insulation system lifetime. Therefore, designers of these machines try to prevent partial discharges by using semiconducting materials on the bars in the slot and in the end of winding. This article focuses on the electrical properties mea-surement of the insulation of the stator coils which were manufactured for testing the semiconductive protection using in the end of winding by synchronous generators."@en .
