"The main task of this technology is to machine a groove, which is three times deeper than wide. The base of the technology is the choice of suitable cutting conditions and choice of geometry of cutting insert for plunge turning. The usage of standard cutting inserts is there not suitable chip forming, which leads to excessive hardening that consequences contact between chip and groove walls. Groove walls are damaged, the dimensions are less precise and at least the cutting insert could be broken by tamping of chip in the groove. The choice of process fluid concentration and its volume leaded into the cut is also very crucial.
