"The article describes the cooperation between University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and SolidCAM Ltd., one of the world leaders in CAM solutions. The main area of the cooperation is focused on cutting force measurement during pro-gressive milling strategies as iMachining. iMachining belongs to the HPC (High Performance Cutting) strategies, that are based on high axial depth of cut (Ap) and small radial depth of cut (Ae). This strategy allows reaching high material removal rate. The next issue is to reach constant tool load that is achieved by predefined tool engagement angle (TEA). In case is not possible to keep TEA constant, the iMachining algorithm increases feed rate and strives to level the cutting force. The main purpose of the experiments was to prove the possibilities of the iMachining tool path computation algo-rithm, to compare the theoretical preconditions with the results of the practical experiments. University of West Bohemia disposes of static and rotating cutting force dynamometer. Both devices are produced by KISTLER Company. The above described experiments were carried out by rotating dynamometer because it allows to measure torque and especially its coordinate system rotates together with the cutting tool. This allows analyzing the behaviour of cutting force on one cutting edge, which helps to understand better the cutting process. The measured data were stored by application that is created in LabVIEW graphical programming language and analyzed by another appli-cation programmed in MATLAB. These applications offer fast and comfortable evaluation of large amount of measured data. The measured and evaluated data are shown in the article. The several experiments evaluation proved out that the iMachining tooth path generation algorithm works correctly.
