"Parts for bus chassis require a high level of safety. Therefore, they are usually made by die forging. Given that massive die forged parts are very heavy, replacements are sought mainly in the form of weldments. A large number of welds, however, brings internal tension to the construction which can in a superposition with operating loads cause formation of fractures. In terms of cost, time consumption and safety while minimizing mass it is therefore appropriate to produce a part with a minimum number of welds and with minimum possible weight of semi-products. Based on customer requirements a technology has been developed that allows hot drawing from thick sheet metal of two three-dimensional semi-products of chassis part which, after trimming the flange, are welded in the zero stress axis. This technological approach allows optimum weight distribution in terms of function and operational stress of the part."@en .
