They are used at machining of hard and difficult-to-machine materials. Many companies, which are focused on coating of cutting tools, try to coat thin wear resistance layers on these progressive cutting tools. These thin layers increase lifetime and cutting power of tools and improve quality machined surface. In the world, especially in USA and Japan, there are already noticed first accomplishments in this area. Unfortunately in Czech Republic and Europe the producers are still not focused on these problems. This article deal with influence of thin layer on cermet tools to the cutting process and quality surface."@en .
