This means that their parameters and conditions of treatments are not widely known. For rolling zircon it was essential to establish precise conditions using material-technology modelling. This meant finding the temperature and length of heating at which rolling did not lead to fracturing and the failure of the process. The second step involved optimization of a reduction plan so that strips of a specified thickness of 14mm could be rolled, during which one side achieves complete recrystallization, rolling finishes at the lowest possible temperature and also the transformation process finishes before transformation from cubic to hexagonal structure occurs. The whole procedure was optimized using material-technology modelling on a simulator.
