"Fluxing agents for steel slags are used during secondary metallurgy treatment in the ladle and their purpose is to ensure efficient refining. In the steel industry, a number of fluxing agents based on Al2O3 is commonly used. They are produced in different forms. This paper deals with plant results and experiences with the usage of briquetted and sintered fluxing agents for slags based on Al2O3. Heats were processed by the secondary metallurgy in the conditions of steel plant V\u00CDTKOVICE HEAVY MACHINERY a.s. during production of two different grades of steel St52-3 and S34MnV with the specific production technology consisting of: EAF-LF-VD/VCD. During experiments, basic parameters influencing the steel desulphurization were monitored: degree of desulphurization, basicity, content of easily reducible oxides, CaO/Al2O3 ratio, Mannesmanns index, and oxygen activity in the steel. Obtained results allow us to make a basic comparison of briquetted fluxing agents produced from secondary raw materials and of sintered fluxing agents, which are produced from pure raw materials."@en . . . .
