In this context, the study provides an analysis of theoretical literature sources in area of strategy evaluation and possible measurement of success. Therefore, an analysis of the strategic flexibility of small and medium-sized businesses could help to find an answer to the question of how this business segment could deal with challenges from the external environment and what type of strategies they might use to achieve their goals. Flexibility to changing conditions is a necessary feature of any company in order to be able to respond. Hence, even if the number of jobs provided by the SMEs gazelles or the amount of the value they add does make up a considerable part of a region or sector, attempts to assess the impact of new business formation on development should try to account for indirect effects also. The purpose of presented research was to discover the impact of external busi ness environment factors current strategic behaviour in small and medium sized business area. The survey was conducted on SMEs in the Czech Republic in 2011 within own research project. Presented factors incorporate dynamic behaviour and shows how manipulating certain items can alter outcomes in the strategic system in a predicable way. As a contribution to the literature, the paper highlights on the flexibility of business strategy types and which items are the most important for strategy making in an uncertain and turbulent environment."@en . . . .
