The aim of the paper is to describe the development cooperation of the Czech Republic and new member states of the European Union. The evolution of development cooperation until 2004 and its europeanization from 2004 to present is briefly analysed. The paper also evaluated multilateral cooperation and the comparison with other new EU member states as a background of the Official Development Assistance in the European Union.
