In order to find out if companies are located in a close proximity there are location quotients, shift-share analysis, locational Gini coefficient, Ellison and Glaeser\u2019s agglomeration index and Maurel-S\u00E9dillot index. Among the range of methods verifying the functional dimension of a cluster, so called mutual interconnection of companies, there are methods utilizing the Input/Output matrix. In this work the individual methods are characterized in terms of computing process and subsequently they are applied to the selected branch of the national economy. In conclusion, advantages and limitations of single methods are summed up and a procedure for searching for clusters in practice is recommended." .
