"The reliable analysis of anions in mine waters with high content of iron and sulphates is very significant for proper mine water characterization. For determination of anions such as Cl-, F-, Br-, NO2-, NO3-, SO42- in surface water without any higher content of other substances the classical methods according to \u010CSN standards can be applied. However, the problems can occur when simultaneous analysis of anions in more complex matrices is required. The determination of anions by classical titration methods or photometric methods is in such cases time-consuming and the results can be erroneous due to matrix interactions with analytical agent. From this point of view the liquid chromatography seems to be suitable method for analysis of selected anions in real complex matrices. For determination of anions by classical methods the removal of iron is necessary due to much interference by majority of determinations. The contribution presents the procedure for removal of iron surplus in mine water by its trapping on cation-exchanger. The samples treated this way were analyzed by liquid chromatography with diode-array-detector (HPLC-DAD) and classical methods in order to determine selected anions Cl-, F-, Br-, NO2-, NO3-, SO42-. The results of determination of selected anions obtained by both techniques (HPLC-DAD and classical methods) were compared and on the basis of their evaluation the procedure for determination of selected anions in mine water from locality Ka\u0148k involving sample pre-treatment and subsequent analysis by HPLC-DAD and classical methods was proposed."@en .
