"In this paper we present capabilities of selected looseless compression methods for application in embedded performance measuring and monitoring devices. Several variations of entropy and dictionary encoders are bench marked on artificially generated data sets with given and controlled distribution. We are using simulated measures of quantities that are typically used for evaluation of power quality in a three phase low voltage network Main selecting factor of used compression methods is it's fitness for a memory limited and relatively low performing micro-controller Speed and compression ratio is evaluated for each algorithm in relation to different parameters of pre-generated data sets - its size, chosen data input encoding, ordering of values and fluctuation (entropy) of each simulated value. Optimal combination of compression algorithm and data format is presented for an ongoing implementation of a real power quality meter"@en . "compression; power quality; energy efficiency"@en .
