"The article deals with the analyse of short-circuit current in stator winding of low power induction motors (IM). The occurrence of short-circuit arises when some parts of the insulation system of stator winding fail.. Stator winding loses a part of active coils and its inductivity decreases. The short-circuit current warms up the surrounding winding with its heat effect at point of the short-circuit. Theoretical part describes two models to simulate different short-circuits that can occur in stator winding. The main benefit of this article is the analyse of short-circuit. Second chapter analyses thermal activity on separate parts of the insulation system. Thermal effects were verified on a set up model that consists of a specially designed motor (EM) with the temperature monitoring in slots of the stator. The results will be used for a design of new diagnostic method suitable for low-power induction motors powered by frequency converters."@en .
