"The object of the research was to design appropriate methods and procedures for obtaining the 3D coordinates of points of the surface of parts automotive lock (metal bracket, lock body, rear plate of lock, ratchet - wheels, pins, etc.) in high resolution and the creation of complex models of measured parts. Models must be able to be used for subsequent inspections of individual parts compared to the CAD model and for the analyses the functionality of the entire assembly and the search for conflict situations moving parts of the mechanism. For this purpose, it was proposed and successfully used non-contact optical method to scan the surface of 3D objects by contactless optical scanner ATOS II 400. Thanks to this method were created models of real parts (polygon mesh of body surface) with a density about 3 000 points on 1 cm2.
