"The article evaluates the impacts of using of natural gas in public transport, using a process based on modelling of emissions and the contribution of transport to concentrations of harmful pollutants in the air. The progressive conversion of the public transport fleet to gas since 2010 is evaluated on the example of the town of P\u0159erov. Four scenarios were modelled; three of them are based on the public transport company\u2019s real fleet composition. The fourth scenario, in which 100% of buses are powered by natural gas, is theoretical. Monitored pollutants include particulate matter and nitrogen oxides. This detailed approach to evaluation offers a more conclusive assessment of the impacts than the method, frequently used in reference literature, of comparing air pollution levels before and after the conversion to gas, as measured at the monitoring stations distributed throughout cities. The results are therefore free of other factors such as the change in the composition of the total traffic flow, stationary sources of pollution, climate fluctuations, etc."@en . "12207" .
