"The certified comprehensive methodology quantifying the impact of the hydric reclamation on the microclimate, fresh air, and water and soil ecosystems (Methodology) was prepared on the basis of systematic research, monitoring and evaluation of the results achieved in all areas of the project no. TA01020592 in the period 2011-2014. The Methodology provides guidance and tools to obtain quantitative estimates of the new water reservoir impact on microclimate and to estimate the effect of microclimate changes around the water reservoir on the local immission values. In the next part, the methodology provides instructions how to monitor selected biological components of water quality, which will contribute to the evaluation of the ecological potential of artificial water reservoir in the category of lakes according to the framework directive in the field of water policy, Directive 2000/60/EC, including the method of sampling focused on the monitoring of phytoplankton. The methodology further provides instructions how to qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate the evolution of flora (i.e. group of vascular plants) and fauna (i.e. group of birds), how to determine the factors affecting the overall diversity of animals and to assess the overall importance of artificial water reservoir, in particular with regard to the protection of birds. The methodology includes recommendations for specific activities leading to preservation of artificially occurring habitats enabling to keep them as permanent habitats even for selected rare and endangered plants with relatively high natural value. The section dedicated to the pedological mapping provides a tutorial how to design the optimal way of reclamation. The methodology should be used in EIA assessment processes for the construction of the expected hydrological rehabilitation in the case of most open-pit surface quarries in the Czech Republic after termination of mineral extraction."@en . .
