The production system uses native recombinant yeasts immobilized in PVA matrix called Lentikats Biocatalyst. The system consists of three stainless steel reactors, wherein the first is intended for production of the enzyme, the second for deactivation of native cells in liquid media and the third as enzyme reservoir. From the enzyme reservoir, the medium can be used for the following downstream purification process or directly into reaction. Operating parameters and basic material balances of the system were verified in a repeated batch conversion operation mode.
