"Hanu\u0161, Oto" . . . "The content of free fatty acids (FFAs) of milk fat is an indicator of raw milk quality. The various indirect infraanalyse (MIR-FT) methods are tested for screening of FFA content. Some characteristics of MIR-FT method validation were stated for determination of FFAs in accredited milk quality laboratories. The impact of milk sample preservation on determination of FFAs was quantified to 0.1869 mmol.100g-1 of fat for K2Cr2O7 and to 0.1813 mmol.100g-1 of fat for bronopol. Both values were significant. Correlations between unpreserved and preserved samples were 0.979 and 0.997 (P < 0.001). The effect was (13.2 and 12.8 %) practically inconsiderable. It is important to compensate this preservation impact via relevant calibration. Transport effect on FFAs was -0.147 + 0.164 mmol.100g-1 of fat (P < 0.05). Correlation was 0.991 (P < 0.001). As the FFA content was slightly decreased by transport, this impact is also practically negligible. The results make possible the centralized calibration."@en .
