"Globalization is a significant phenomenon that has appeared at the end of the 20th century and that dominates in the 21st century. This phenomenon meddles in all areas of social life. By means of quantitative analysis of opinions of group of experts from the field of agriculture sector, we have decided to evaluate the impact of the globalization on evolution of agrarian and food sector of the country, with directing on agrarian sector of Slovakia. We have carried out the research three times in the years 2003, 2006 and 2010. Respondents were divided into two main groups, Slovak and foreign respondents. We have also used other divisions of respondents according to age, sex and profession. Association tables were used to verify dependencies of answers gathered by interviews and questionnaires. While in 2003 the effects of globalization in agrarian sector in Slovakia were perceived with positive expectations, in 2006 these expectations became real, but we have recorded doubts about positive effects in 2010. The benefit of the globalization in economy of the country presents the issue not only between professionals and laics, but also in academics or people working in European or Word organizations. We expect rather positive influences of globalization in agrarian sector of Slovakia when it comes to increase of work productivity, work quality, enlargements of product lines, increase of export and increase of value of land in Slovakia. Indifferent effect of globalization is expected in prices of agri-food commodities. Negative effects will be translated into higher unemployment in agrarian sector of Slovakia and decreasing value of agrarian sector on GDP as well as remaining negative trade balance of Slovakia."@en . .
