"This paper deals with isolation and characterization of biosurfactant produced by the yeast Yarrowia lipolytica. Biosurfactant was isolated by triple extraction into ethylacetate (volume ration 3:1) from culture medium and it was market with the abbreviation YAR. Critical micellar concentration (CMC) and minimum surface tension (MST) were determined, which were CMC = 12 mg/l and MST = 40 mN/m. Biosurfactant solution was used to detrmine iterfacial tension of the aqueous solution/non-polar substace system. Non-polar phase consisted of a representative of aromatic hydrocarbons (toluene), a representative aliphatic hydrocarbons (isooctane) and the oil fraction (kerosene JET A1). It was determined that biosurfactant solution (concentration range from 0 to 500 mg/l) decreased interfacial tension by about 80% for all studied systems."@en . . "7"^^ .
