"For randomly selected samples of wheat, barley, rye and oats harvested in 2010 in the Czech Republic (CR), the content of Fusarium mycotoxins deoxynivalenol (DON) and zearalenone (ZEA) was analysed. The maximum content of these mycotoxins in cereals intended for human consumption is limited by Commission Regulation No. 1881/2006. From 100 wheat samples, only one did not comply with the limit for maximum DON content. This wheat grain was harvested in Jihomoravsk\u00FD district and the preceeding crop was maize. All wheat samples complied with the limit for maximum ZEA content. All of the 60 samples of malting barley complied with the limits for both DON and ZEA and the level of barley contamination by Fusarium mycotoxins was in the 2010 the lowest since 2005 (the beginning of observation). Among 10 analysed samples of rye, one sample overcame the limit for maximum DON content. This rye grain was harvested in Plze\u0148sk\u00FD district and the preceeding crop was maize. All of the 27 samples of oats fulfilled the limit for DON. The level of wheat and mainly barley contamination by Fusarium mycotoxins was in 2010 lower in comparison with previous years, the contamination of rye seemed to be higher. The results tend to show that the weather in one vegetation period can influence the Fusarium disease development and mycotoxin production differently for different kinds of cerelas."@en . . . .
