"Two spring barley hulless lines, KM1910 and KM 2092, and standard hulled cultivar of spring barley Kompakt were grown in 2002\u20132004 at the location Oponice (SK) after optimum preceding crop. The effect of four N fertilization treatments at early growth stages (non-fertilized control, limestone ammonium nitrate /LAN/ at a dose of 20 kg.ha-1 and a dose calculated for the yield of 5 t.ha-1 at growth stage DC21, and urea ammonium nitrate solution /DAM 390/ at a dose calculated for the yield of 5 t.ha-1 at growth stage DC29) on grain yield, yield elements and other agronomic traits was observed. Hulless barley lines positively responded to a higher level of N fertilization and depending on applied fertilization treatment and effects of weather conditions of the year they differed in the formation of grain yield and as well as individual yield elements. The grain yield formation in hulless barley differed from hulled standard and there were also differences between the two lines with hulless grain."@en .
