Both crops were grown in three variants of crop management practices differing in input levels (low, medium and high). The effect on yield, starch content in grain, starch composition and total starch extract per hectare was examined. In winter barley, lowest grain and starch yields per hectare were produced in low-input variant, highest yields in high-input variant. Differences between variants were significant in most cases. In spring barley, lowest average grain and starch yields were obtained at all locations under low-input model crop management practice, and highest yields under high-input management. Differences between medium-input and high-input variant were not generally large.
