"There is a positive result of leptospira cultivation (Leptospira interrogans) in bioreactor. The cultivations were effected in bioreactors Chemap, Bioengeneering and Applikon, took place in Microbiological Department of Academy of Science of Czech Republic, Praha and Bioveta, a.s., Ivanovice na Han\u00E9. To the cultivations we have used Korthoff medium enriched by rabbit serum (Bioveta, a.s.) It was achieved the growth of leptospiral culture to maximal density 2,50E+8 cells/ml in total volume 100 L of the suspension. This concentration is at least about one order higher than the concentration obtained by using standard static cultivation. It was observed, that extension of cultivation time over 120 hours did not bring greater effect, in addition there exists higher risk of microbial contamination. During the year 2014 were further carried out succesful cultivations of borrelia strain (Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto) in bioreactor Applikon ADI 270 in maximal volume to 50 L. We have achieved the growth of Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto strain in BSK-H medium (Bioveta, a.s.) in maximal density 2,06E+8 cells/ml of suspension. It was found, that optimal cultivation period is not longer than 240 hour. Both of leptospira and borrelia strains cultivation in bioreactors in volumes to 100 L (leptospira strains) and 50 L (borrelia strains) seem to bring reproducible and stable results."@en .
