"In recent years, it is looking for a replacement of currently used substance in a propellant, which according to the current requirements for the level of toxicity and carcinogenicity are unacceptable. The main objective of the project was to find a replacement nitro compounds and plasticizers for substance satisfactory in terms of health. This step, however, is not easy, because they exhibit excellent properties and their cost is relatively low. The best candidates were studied: TEGDN (triethylene glycol dinitrate), TMPTN (trimethylolpropane trinitrate), TMETN (trimethylol ethane trinitrate), 1,12-dodecandiole. These compounds were synthesized and identified. Operational ins. was developed for TEGDN, TMETN and TMPTN. On the basis of tests in propellants the best materials were selected (TEGDN and 1,12-dodecandiole) and these were incorporated into propellants and tested.
