"In the period 1994-2002, a number of expeditions in the territory of the Czech Republic were undertaken to collect and conserve original fruit landraces, cultivars (cvs.) which were cultivated in the past. The expeditions were directed mainly to the border regions of the country, where the chances of finding forgotten materials were better. Many interesting and valuable landraces and obsolete cultivars were found and brought to the National Collection. The following Czech sweet cherry landraces were found: 'B\u011Blice', 'Buky', 'Doupovsk\u00E1 \u010Dern\u00E1', 'Lib\u011Bjovick\u00E1 ran\u00E1', 'Medovka', 'Plavky', 'Srdcovka p\u0159e\u00FArodn\u00E1', '\u0160akvick\u00E1', 'Vla\u0161ky' and 'Znojemsk\u00E1 ka\u0161t\u00E1nka'. One of the most striking cultivars was 'Ladeho pozdn\u00ED', which has the latest time of ripening of all known cultivars. It was ripe at the beginning of September (in comparison to the cultivar 'Van', that ripens around July 10) in the locality Mrklovat at an elevation of 658 m a.s.l.
