It has resulted in highly-fluctuating discharges in streams and losses of nutrients and basic cations. Chemistry of surface waters in six different localities in the Czech Republic was studied. The conductivity of water in human impacted localities was around 600 mS.cm-1 while in natureclose localities only 200 mS.cm-1. Significant differences between localities were found for most of the monitored parameters. Concerning parameters discharged water from arable land has similar patterns like water leaving constructed wetland. Effects of natural processes and human impacts on water chemistry are discussed in terms of sustainability as well as defining good ecological status of the waters according to The Water Framework Directive 2000/60 EU." . .
