"The aim of this paper is to present a theoretical insight into the implementation of market orientation from the point of corporate culture in high-tech firms and selected results of preliminary research. Present knowledge suggests that implementation of a marketing concept hinges on the degree to which it is being shared by individuals in the firm. We deduce from the fact that corporate culture significantly determines the implementation of a firm's market orientation. This paper is based on work done in a research project entitled Research into Implementation of Market Orientation in Hi-Tech Firms. The project is funded by the Grant Agency of the CR (GA 402/07/1493). The planned primary research is specifically targeted to high-tech companies because they are an important driving force in the economy.
