From the environmental point of view, it is therefore essential to monitor the toxicological and ecotoxicological impact of synthetic polymeric material. This study is focused on ecotoxicological evaluation of selected esters of acrylic and methacrylic acids. Two basic types of ecotoxicological biotests can be distinquished (the acute toxicity tests and chronic toxicity tests). Test can be also classified into the fallowing categories: standard and alternative tests. Standard tests are approved by OECD. Alternative test were implemented later on, they comform requirements on laboratories better. Their correlation with standatd tests has been proved." . . . .
