Furthermore, bacterial resistence against them has been proven to establish easily. The focus of this research was to developed separation and identification technique for sulphonamides in wastewater. Sulphonamides were concentrated by l/l extraction using ethyl acetate. The HPLC column ZORBAX Eclipse XDB-C18 (150mm x 4.6mm) was used and elution was carried out using gradient mode. As mobile phase was used acetonitrile and 0,1% formic acid in purified water. Sulphonamides were detected using UV absorbance at 270 nm. Average recovery obtained for sulfonamides was 84.1 6.8 %. Limit of quatification (LOQ) for sulfathiazol was 0.5 ng.ml-1 and limit of detection was 0.2 ng.ml-1. The optimized method was used for real samples collected from wastewater treatment plant in University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno campus."@en .
