"Zv\u016Fle" . "Free space optic links are already being used in many applications. Nevertheless, overall error rate of the link is still too dependent on actual atmospheric conditions. This effect is especially perceptible on long links, where atmosphere influence the link much more compare to the short ones. The negative effects can be partially compensated using suitable construction and configuration of the link. However, there are always some residual errors that need to be recovered using a suitable FEC (Forward Error Correction) and ARQ (Automatic Repeat Request) algorithm. This task is still open in case of free space optical communications, which is caused by specific properties of the used communication channel (atmosphere)."@en . . . .
