The spatial distribution of the optical intensity in laser spot belongs among the main characteristics of a laser beam. It can be measured directly by using a special CCD matrix. This method cannot be used for measuring the spatial distribution of optical intensity of beams with a half-width of more than a few millimeters. This paper introduces the method based on measuring the spatial distribution with an unspecialized CCD cameera and a screen and basic image processing methods used for laser spot analysis. This measuring method provides for the measurement of the optical intensity of beams with a larger half-width in a visible area of the electromagnetic spectrum.
