These efforts may be characterized by using new information and communication technologies (ICT), which now include a wide range of technical facilities, computers and software packages and their aggregation. One of the easiest options is to use finished products, such as: dictionaries, multimedia encyclopaedias, computer-based computing, modelling and simulation systems, multimedia and interactive teachinng aids etc. Nowadays, Internet is used for the most parts not only as a source of information, but also as an on-line educational tool. To this end, Internet-based (mostly multimedia) textbooks and examination tests are created. Use of ICT is now being adopted on a large scale chiefly by Czech Technical Universities, among them the Technical University (TU) of Brno.
