"The paper deals with the comparison of the velocity-size distribution results acquired at different geometrical setups of the PDA (Phase Doppler Anemometer) system. The PDA is well known as one of the most useful techniques to study the particle velocity and size distributions in two-phase flows. The value of the Off-axis angle affects the number of the detected particles in the spray. Experiments were carried out on the sprays generated by both effervescent and pressure nozzles. During the experiment, the effervescent nozzle was operated in the air pressure range of 0.1 to 0.5 MPa and GLR (Gas-to-liquid mass ratio) varied from 1 to 25%. Mass flow rates of water ranged from 5 up to 50 gos-1. The pressure nozzles were operated in the same range of pressure level and flow rates as applied to the effervescent nozzle experiments. The measurement of spray quality is represented by the values of the mean diameters of droplets, especially D32 (SMD-Sauter mean diameter). The setup of the PDA system may identi"@en . "3"^^ .
