"Thermal treatment of waste (municipal, hazardous, biological) is used as an integral part of integrated waste management throughout Europe. To minimize the impact of this technology on environment it's necessary to remove harmful and desirable compounds liberated during incineration. There are several methods used for this purpose based on various physical and chemical principles. The most wide-spread and reliable method in case of acid gasses (like SO2, HCl, HF) is the wet scrubbing. A unit for wet scrubbing characterized by considerably novel design and arrangement was developed and built. However, the performing of experiments is time-consuming and economic demanding. Therefore the complex model of this unit was created in commercial software ChemCad 5.1.3. The studies of influence of individual operating parameters on effectiveness of SO2 removal were accomplished by means of this model. The narrow range of studied parameters, in which the computed results will have to be verified by experiments,"@en .
