"The hysteresis loops of 316L austenitic and X10CrAl24 ferritic stainless steels were digitally recorded and analysed in order to separate the effective and internal stresses and to evaluate the influence of asymmetry cycle on them. By means of the \u201EGeneralised statistical theory of the hysteresis loop\u201D average characteristics as the effective elastic modulus Eeff, the saturated effective stress es and the probability density function f(ic) in relation to the mean stress m were deetermined. The cyclic plastic response of austenitic steel can be accurately described by this statistical theory (low es ≈ 58 MPa) without an influence of m on this response. As for the ferritic steel, the second local maximum on f(ic), which depends on m, was revealed. This phenomenon was discussed together with an observed dislocation arrangement by TEM methods and the orientation of crystals was determined by Kikuchi lines."@en .
