"Sulphur binders originate by burnout of calcium sulphate dihydrate at different temperatures. All types are classified in air mortars therefore they can solidify, harden and remain stable only on air. Alpha hemihydrate is a material of very high quality and strengths, it is more compact with a coordinated mesh. Due to its properties it is applied as a binder for self levelling floor mixtures, but mainly for specific purposes in dental surgery. The gypsum dehydration with formation of apha - plaster can be carried out in two ways: - At temperature of 135 C under elevated pressure - At temperature of 105 C in salt solution In both of the mentioned cases the gypsum grain splits in the direction of Miller indexes (010) and (111) with final product automorphic grain alpha - hemihydrate of calcium sulphate characteristic with low consumption of mixture water and excellent strength characteristics. Alternative ways of the production, namely in salt solution are tested by Czech and foreign authors as well"@en .
