"This paper focuses on the research of the various filter material properties; on define their advantages and disadvantages. Authors determine porosity, density, hydraulic conductivity, phosphorus sorption, etc. From the physical properties describes the determination of hydraulic conductivity, we present the results of frost resistance of non-traditional materials (slag, cinder, zeolite, etc.). The following are the results from observations of filtering material sorption characteristics - a comparison of classical natural filtration materials with unconventional materials which commonly dont used (focus on sorption of phosphorus in waste water). Results from the application of mathematical modeling are aimed at comparing different characteristics of selected materials.
