"The hardness method using Schmidt hammer is known and used for more than sixty years. During this time it became one of the most important tools for non-destructive investigation of structural strength of concrete. Its usefulness has been proven many times on various construction projects. Been widely used especially in recent years it has found its foothold in the system of the Czechoslovak state standards. Applying Schmidt rebound method is still more used on ordinary concrete. The literature about degree of applicability to other types of concrete is basically silent. Scanty information can be obtained only from a very small number of sources. Practically oriented professional public has so very little chance to learn relevant information about the accuracy and applicability of this method to other types of concrete such as SCC or HSC.
