"Brick body contains calcined clay minerals, which are amorphous and feature a certain pozzolanic activity. Such minerals react with calcium hydroxide at an ambient conditions to form hydrated calcium silicates and aluminates. From this point of view the brick body can be used as a partial replacement of cement in concrete or as a supplementary material for lime mortars. Reactivity of the brick body and reaction kinetics depends mainly on the raw composition, temperature of burning and grain size.
