"Many practical engineering problems can be formulated as the problem of global optimization. We look for local extremes of the objective function of treated tasks, which are of stochastic character. At present, the rainfall - runoff process is replaced by deterministic modelling in terms of mathematical simulation means. These problems require the clear formulation of proposed parameters in the form of boundary conditions. Design hydrological scenarios can be considered to be one of the most hardly determinable boundary conditions in problems of the urgan drainage. Their determination is based on hydrological data. The presented paper tries to refer to the required extent of hydrological data and to inform the technical public with increasing differences between requirements and the real availability of required hydrological data to deal with engineering problems."@en .
