"Hydraulic research of safety spillway of the Byst\u0159i\u010Dka Dam"@en . "Reconstruction of the safety spillway of the Bystricka Dam was proposed to satisfy new requirements of safety of dams. The aim of the proposal is safety transfer of 10 000-year flood with flow rate of Q10 000 = 310,50 m3.s-1. The maximum water level in reservoir should not exceed the maximum safety level MSL = 386,01 m a.s.l. at this flow rate. Accuracy of the proposal was verified using hydraulic model which was build in length scale ML = 20. Discharge coefficient of proposed spillway surface was estimated and the water level was measured in spillway channel and at the brink of the existing stepped chute during the research. Measuring of water level in the spillway channel was necessary for confirmation of safety distance between the water level and the lowest part of the bridge located above the channel. The hydraulic research enabled verification of proposal accuracy.
