The vertical feeder distributes an input signal from a horizontal feeder to 8 radiating antennas elements. The radiating elements separation is 180 mm. The signal distribution is carried out by branch-line power dividers. All the dividers in the vertical feeder are performed on the suspended stripline technology. Using various division ratios and phase shifts the desired vertical radiation pattern is achieved. Vertical feeder application not only in the standard secondary radar antennas but also in integration with a primary radar antenna or in other antenna combinations is possible due to a highly miniaturized dimensions of the feeder. To reduce the size of the feeder two design approaches were used. At first, the PCB with power dividers are situated in two layers stacked one above the other, at second a special topology of power dividers, reducing the feeder width was applied."@en .
