This random copolymer linked beta- (1,4) bond, which is composed of monomers of D-glucose and D-mannose. The molar ratio of glucose to mannose is 1:1.6. Glucomannan is obtained from the Amorphophallus konjac plant, which is grown mainly in the southeastern part of Asia. Glucomannan is used in many sectors, for example food, chemical, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Hydrogels are polymers constituting the 3D network, which is capable of retaining large amounts of water. The aim of this work was to prepare glucomannan hydrogels according to the literature sources and compare their properties, both in terms of swelling properties, solubility, drying time and swelling properties in saturated solutions of fertilizers."@en .
