"Magnetic nanoparticles of manganese perovskite La1-xSrxMnO3 were prepared by sol-gel technique and encapsulated by the silica shell. Water suspension of these nanoparticles has good colloidal stability and low toxicity because of compact silica shell. This material could find application for diagnostics and therapy in oncology. These nanoparticles have about five times higher relaxivity than commercial iron oxides based products and higher heating efficiency together with a self controlled heating mechanisms eliminating risk of overheating of the healthy tissue."@en .
