Up to date this method was used mainly for the analysis of pesticide residues in food samples. Due to its advantages presented in the literature we dealt with the applicability of this method also for the extraction of synthetic food dyes. The aim of this study was developing of the suitable, fast and effective alternative to the conventional method based on the isolation of dyes on the wool fibre. After extraction of target compounds into the suitable solvent the extracts could be easily analysed by spectrophotometry in visible region at appropriate wavelengths and based on the individual standard compounds the method recovery could be evaluated as well. In this stud six standards of synthetic food dyes (yellow - E102 and E104; red - E124 and E129; blue - E131 and E133) were tested. These compounds are authorised in the Czech Republic as food additives, but in some cases (i.e. E102, E104, E124 and E129) the food labelling must contain the information that these dyes could affect the children activity and attention."@en . . .
