"\u0160imkov\u00E1, Eva" . "BEST Servis" . . "This contribution presents overview of typical applications of electrochemical enzyme-linked techniques for sequence-specific DNA sensing. These techniques are based on biocatalytic amplification of the measured signal using enzymes. Each enzyme molecule, tethered to biotinylated DNA via streptavidin-biotin bond, can catalyze conversion of many molecules of a suitable substrate into detectable product. Analysis of nucleotide sequences can be founded on two approaches: hybridization of biotinylated probe with target DNA or sequence-specific incorporation of biotin-labeled nucleotides into DNA by primer extension. These methods were used for the detection of specific DNA sequences, monitoring of gene expression, detection of trinucleotide repeats and SNP typing."@en .
