"Silver solid amalgam electrode (AgSAE) appears to be a suitable alternative to hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE). It was proved, that the amalgam has crystalline structure, the mercury does not evaporate from it and the liquid mercury is not presence on the electrode surface. Polished AgSAE was successfully used for determination of various inorganic and organic compounds and also in the area of DNA analysis, where it was better to modify the electrode surface by mercury film or meniscus to improve the obtained results in some cases."@en .
