"The aim of this study was determination characteristic parameters of dispersed systems which exert influence up microfiltration and establish influence between electrochemical properties of particles and filter cake resistance. The asymmetric flat sheet membranes with zirconia?s active layer were used. Powdered china clay was dispersed with demineralised water in ultrasonic bath. The pH values were adjusted using hydrochloric acid, and the ionic strength was changed by using Na3PO4. The results of the experiments show that the zeta-potential of particles have important effects on the permeate flux. This is especially pronounced during microfiltration of the dispersion when it is close to its isoelectric point, when the value of permeate flux increased to about double the value of non-treated dispersion."@en .
